Temporary Committees

What is the Nominating Committee?

What is nominating committee's job?  Review nominations & propose a slate of officers for the next executive board. This slate will be voted on at the election in April.  Nominating committee plays a crucial role, recommending the candidates they feel are most qualified to serve each position.

You are still allowed to run for a board position if you serve on the nominating committee.

Who is on nominating committee?  Nominating committee is elected at either the January or February meeting.  It is composed of 7 total members. 4 are general members (non-board) & will be elected by the membership, while 3 are current executive board members & will be elected by the executive board.

What is the Audit Committee?

What is the audit committee's job?  Cross-checks the unit's finances to ensure accuracy, as the new treasurer takes office.  This information will be provided by the outgoing treasurer.  The fiscal year runs July 1 - June 30, so auditing the books will occur in July & August after the end of the fiscal year.  The audit committee will report their findings to the general membership at the first meeting of the school year.

Who is on the audit committee?  Audit committee is composed of 3 members not on the executive committee.  They are appointed by the executive board in June.
