6 Myths about joining the Pta

MYTH 1:  Joining the PTA means I have to volunteer, so I don't have time to join the PTA
FACT:  There will be opportunities to get involved, but if you can't, no pressure.  Your smile & support will suffice!  If you can't volunteer, please still consider becoming a member.  You will have the satisfaction of knowing your financial support helps fund events & activities for the children throughout the school year!  

MYTH 2: I have an idea but the PTA isn't interested
FACT: New ideas are always welcome! It's important to keep our PTA fresh & exciting. So please bring your creative ideas up at a meeting or contact us!

MYTH 3: My child's life will be the same whether or not I join the PTA
FACT: Not only does membership put you in direct communication with other parents & teachers, it shows your child that you are interested & invested in their educational experience.

MYTH 4:  The PTA is only for teachers & stay-at-home parents with nothing else to do
FACT:  Your fellow PTA members are community members from all walks of life whose commonality is wanting to support the kids & the school.  Most are juggling bills, chores, kids, sports & homework, just like you!  A strong PTA needs the support of moms, dads, family members, teachers, school staff & community members. Anyone who cares about children belongs in the PTA!

MYTH 5:  The PTA already has all the help they need
FACT:  The PTA always wants & always needs volunteers.  If you choose to volunteer, you decide the time commitment...as much or as little as you want.

MYTH 6: PTA membership never expires, I only have to join once
FACT: Each new school year begins a new membership year. Your PTA membership will be good for the entire school year (until September 30).
